JOB DESCRIPTION / MAIN PURPOSE

The successful candidate is responsible for the infrastructure of IT systems both hosted and internal.  The post reports to the IT Director but works closely with other support team members.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  • Providing infrastructure support and configuration of all systems (hosted and internal)  such as Firewalls, VPNs, Switches, Servers, Workstations and Devices
  • Responsible for ensuring and implementing the security and integrity of the company’s IT systems (hosted and internal)
  • ISO 27001 – Development of the policies and procedures
  • ISO 27001 – Auditing and enacting of the policies and procedures
  • Management of the Hyper-V environments (hosted and internal)
  • Day to day management of Windows server network using active directory and group policy (hosted and internal)
  • Providing server configuration and support of all IT hardware and operating systems (hosted and internal)
  • Backup & disaster recovery planning & verification (hosted and internal)
  • Patch management (hosted and internal)
  • Infrastructure problem solving and diagnosing system issues
  • Client and hosted services provider communications
  • Vulnerability assessments and testing (hosted and internal)
  • Penetration testing for both the application and infrastructure (hosted and internal)
  • Providing Out of Hours Rota’d Support of the hosted environment (1 week in every 4 week period) additional remuneration applies
  • Management of MS Office 365, SharePoint, & MS Dynamics (CRM)

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Qualifications, although important, are not as essential as proving competency in the areas detailed below.

Essential

  • Experience in configuring ‘Site to Site’ VPNs
  • Experience of Cisco or Junos OS configuration
  • Experience of Windows Server 2016 setup and maintenance
  • MCSA: Windows Server
  • CCNA or equivalent
  • MS SQL Server management and supporting

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Transact SQL
  • Knowledge of VB Scripting
  • Full UK driving license
