Job Title:                                 Infrastructure and Application Support Analyst

Location:                                 Swindon Office

Full -Time:                              37.5hrs per week.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION / MAIN PURPOSE

The successful candidate is responsible for the development and support of our computerised maintenance management software (CMMS) and support of the IT systems both on premise and hosted.  The post reports to the IT Director but works closely with other support and development team members.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing infrastructure support and configuration of all systems on premise and hosted. (Firewalls, VPNs, Switches, Servers, Workstations)
  • Day to day management of Windows server network using active directory and group policy
  • Providing server configuration and support of all IT hardware and operating systems
  • Backup & disaster recovery planning & verification
  • Providing Out of Hours Rota’d Support of the hosted environment (1 in every 4 week period) additional remuneration rewarded
  • Providing Web Application Support & Development of our maintenance management software, by becoming an expert in all aspects of the application
  • Delivering support to existing customer users and investigating and resolving application errors, data discrepancies and queries
  • Developing, where agreed and feasible, customisations to the application
  • Management of the support queue
  • Triage of support requests
  • Re-creating and validating support issues
  • Gathering monitoring information
  • Problem solving and diagnosing system issues
  • Client communications
  • Working with the IT function and customers in identifying and proposing application system changes, better uses, enhancements and development

KEY TASKS

  • Infrastructure support on premise and hosted
  • Monitor the infrastructure noting problems and identify trends
  • Provide HolisTech Web and HolisTech Smart Application Support & Development
  • Ensure all work is carried out and documented in accordance with required standards, methods and procedures
  • Provide correct responses to requests for support by means of for example: making modifications to system parameters, developing work-arounds, site specific enhancements reconfiguring systems, changing operating procedures, training users or operations staff, producing additional documentation, or escalating requests
  • Monitor the application noting problems and identify performance trends. Take corrective action to improve performance and to avoid problems arising
  • Out of Hours rota’d support of the hosted environment (1 in every 4 week period) additional remuneration rewarded
  • Document work, take part in user meetings and assist in presenting issues and solutions
  • Define acceptance tests for new or changed functionality.

Essential

  • Experience of Cisco or Junos OS configuration
  • Experience of Windows Server 2016 setup and maintenance

  • Full UK driving license
