Implementation Methodology Training

Utilising our considerable experience within Industry Strategic Maintenance Planning can offer training in the actual implementation of Planned Maintenance and Inventory Management systems.

Planned Maintenance Implementation courses are as follows:

Planned Maintenance (PPM) Overview: One day

General methodologies are demonstrated and explained. This course is ideal for personnel who already have a good knowledge of Planned Maintenance systems and only require direction and focus for their implementation efforts.

Planned Maintenance (PPM) Detailed: Three Days

Much more time is spent on procedures and techniques. Here the course is structured to suit personnel who are new to computerised maintenance management systems and require more detailed procedures to lead to success.

PPM Intensive: One week

The course leaves the classroom environment in order to follow a 'real-life' implementation of a limited number of factory assets. Delegates are taken step-by-step through the implementation procedure for site assets.

The course covers the following:

  • Development of a Structured Asset Register
  • To Draft - Process Map
  • To Define - Site, Area, Location, Main Asset, Sub Asset
  • To Define - System, Sub-System
  • To Define - Groups, Sub-Groups
  • To Define - Basic Asset details
  • FMEA analysis on the main and sub-assets identified
  • Compilation of appropriate planned maintenance instructions
  • Scheduling the planned maintenance instructions
  • Generation of Work Lists
  • Completion of a one-off PPM work flow sign-off
  • Generation of reports
  • Set up of one or two supplier details as an example
  • Implementation of the above data within HolisTech™

Inventory Management Implementation courses range as follows:

Inventory Basic - One day

A general overview is outlined of the required methodology to dovetail an Inventory Management system to support a Planned Maintenance environment

Inventory Advanced - Three days

Course includes detailed procedures for stores arrangement, Stores Inventory Policy formulation (including FMEA methodology) and transfer of data to computerised systems. The course also gives direction for possible future improvements to Engineering Departmental structure to enable engineers to have more responsibility for stores, rather than centralising this function in a store person's role.

Alternatively courses can be tailored to meet individual requirements, with elements of both disciplines included to suit customers' needs.

For course costs and further information on the design of bespoke courses please contact the training co-ordinator at Strategic Maintenance Planning or use the enquiry form.

The advantages of Strategic Maintenance Planning Maintenance courses include:

Course costs include all documentation for delegates.  Courses may be held at a customer's site, Strategic Maintenance Planning offices or any other appropriate venue.

  • Companies can reap the benefits of implementing planned maintenance using on-site resources, yet be sure that they are following tested and proven methodologies to ensure optimum effectiveness and minimise implementation time.
  • Customer organisation's staff gain the necessary skills to set up an effective planned maintenance system, and as importantly, are able to continuously improve and refine the system as changes in the working environment occur.
  • Implementation costs are reduced with most of the time consuming work being completed on-site, rather than through outside contractors.
  • Companies benefit through association with Strategic Maintenance Planning who can provide assistance suited to customer needs - help can be from complete implementation through to periodical audit and review, ensuring the on-going effectiveness of the system.
